Frequently asked questions
I don’t have any hardware – can I still look at the app?
Yes. Tap “Start demo mode” on the sign-in screen. You’ll see a sample household with solar, battery, wallbox and heat pump. Control actions stay local in demo mode.
How do I connect my Home Assistant?
Through the open-source Crowdergy Connector from HACS. The app guides you through the three steps on first launch (HACS → add repository → enter pairing code). Instructions and source code: github.com/colinwilke/crowdergy-connector.
My devices don’t show up.
Check in Home Assistant that the “Crowdergy” integration is loaded and the entities are mapped. In the app, Settings → Connection status shows whether connector and backend are connected. After pairing it can take up to a minute for the first values to arrive.
Crowdergy AI isn’t controlling a device even though it’s active.
Every device needs its own consent (tile → Crowdergy AI). Tapping the device shows the latest AI decision with its reasoning. For heat pumps Crowdergy only moves the min/max target temperature, never hard on/off – how long the compressor runs is decided by the device.
Emergency stop
At the top of the Crowdergy AI card: one tap stops Crowdergy AI on all devices. The devices fall back to their factory behaviour.
Delete your account
Settings → Account → “Delete account”. This permanently removes your account and all linked data from the backend. Alternatively, email feedback@crowdergy.de.
Crash reports
Anonymous crash and performance reports help us find bugs. You can turn them off under Settings → Feedback & Legal → “Send crash reports”. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Tibber prices are missing
Settings → Connection status → Tibber: enter an access token from developer.tibber.com. Tibber publishes tomorrow’s prices daily at around 1 pm.
